The Ginori 1735 homeware brand upholds many of the values of timeless Italian beauty and is held near and dear by many global style setters today. The prestigious porcelain company was founded in Doccia, Italy—just a few kilometers from the center of Florence—precisely in 1735. On the other side of the Atlantic and a few hundred years later, the St. Regis was born in New York in 1904 by John Jacob Astor. Today, it boasts luxury hotels and resorts in some of the most enchanting places on the planet.
In a new venture, St. Regis and Ginori 1735 have combined their centuries of hospitality experience to create the first Café Ginori, which will open its doors on November 26 in Florence. It will do so in the city’s St. Regis, which is housed in the 18th-century Palazzo Magli, a former noble residence overlooking the Arno River. This café is the continuation of a hospitality experience that began with The St. Regis Venice, where Ginori 1735 devised a sublime takeover of the hotel’s terrace, marking its debut in the textile sector. Other fantastic terraces will come to life at The St. Regis Riyadh, The St. Regis Downtown Dubai, and other locations in 2025, extending throughout Marriott International’s Luxury Group.
Jenni Benzaquen, senior vice president of St. Regis, The Ritz-Carlton, and Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts, says that this partnership “perfectly infuses Ginori's bold elegance with St. Regis’s ‘House of Celebration.’ This collaboration redefines the idea of unconventional luxury, inviting guests to experience a sensory journey at our most iconic addresses.” The ‘House of Celebration’ concept harkens back to aforementioned John Jacob Astor, who used to open his home for intimate and private but festive and unforgettable parties. New York society was invited to celebrate life, dancing and toasting, in what would become the first major luxury hotel in American history (the first to have a telephone in every room).
Fabrics, pillows, tablecloths, and even the umbrellas will all be Ginori, including selected pieces from the brand’s Domus home collection. Guests at Café Ginori will experience a menu created to reflect the vibrancy of Italian cuisine, paired with Ginori’s collections. Each dish will be a fascinating journey through the art of plating: a unique approach that redefines the rules of mise en place, both visually and gastronomically, from breakfast to aperitif.
For guests who want a keepsake, there is also a Ginori coaster set designed exclusively for the St. Regis: a custom-made mini collection of four coasters that is inspired by the pairing of the two brands, and references the St. Regis’s “cult” cocktail, the Bloody Mary. The coaster set will be available for purchase both in person and online.
